I relaunched my Year of New project on January 1. If you want to know more about the project, I spoke with the wonderful Kimberly Wilson about it on her podcast Tranquility du Jour back in early 2019.
Here’s what I did during Week 2:
January 10
I took a trip to Queens (possibly my first during COVID?) to go to the Noguchi Museum. Well worth the trip.
January 11
I started Gabby Bernstein’s Judgment Detox. I had read the book before but not actually, you know, done the detox part.

January 12
I did this Capricorn New Moon Love Note Ritual from Forever Conscious. It’s probably too late to do the actual ritual but I really recommend the chakra meditation included in it.

January 13
I received a Tarot and Oracle card reading from Margo. Here’s what she had to say:
Queen of Swords Reversed: Pain may be over emphasized right now and you’re focusing on sorrow, keeping you in a fearful, unhappy state. This card also is encouraging you to open your mind when making decisions.
You’re already doing it: Stop overthinking it! You’re exactly where you need to be, moving at the perfect speed.
My interpretation:
Water your own garden. You may be feeling the weight of the world right now (we all are), but it’s time to open your mind and look around. Because you’re in the right place in your life, now’s the time to focus on healing and maybe that looks different than conventional methods you’re used to.

January 14
Joined a self-care and community care chat on Clubhouse hosted by my friend Kimberly.
January 15
Started reading Susi Wyss’s memoir Guess Who is the Happiest Girl in Town.

January 16
Took a Word of the Year with Watercolors class through Creative Mornings FieldTrips. My word for 2021 is Optimism (a redo from 2020).
